About Me

Rosemount Mayor for Almost 20 years
Proven Experience
Local city governments work closely with counties at many levels such as community health, public safety, and transportation. Since being mayor, I have always had the desire to serve at the county level if the opportunity arose. If elected this newly aligned fourth district would allow me to give a voice, at the local level, to this urban rural area.
I was elected in 2002 to my first term as mayor of Rosemount, Minnesota. My service to the community includes positions on many different boards including the Metro Cities Board and the Housing Family Fund. During my tenure, Money magazine has ranked Rosemount twice as one of top 50 best places to live in the United States.
I hold a Master’s degree in Telecommunications and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Management. I am employed as a realtor with Keller Williams Preferred Realty. Prior to that, I worked 28 years in the communications industry as an Operations Manager and Senior Market Analyst. I also served eight years in the Iowa Army National Guard.
I have lived in Rosemount since 1989. I have three adult children with my late wife Carol Droste, and 4 grandchildren. Interests include reading, running, including 4 marathons, golf, and spending time with my family.
